JSPInsider.com has been around since early 2000. A lot has changed in the world of Servlets and JSP, and I felt it was time to upgrade so that this site promoted the latest and greatest in JSP. This site is now fully JSP 2.0 and Servlet 2.4 compliant, and it is built using simple, intuitive, implementations of good design patterns (i.e. the practices discussed in Servlets and JSP; the J2EE Web Tier) -- although you probably will be more excited to know that all of our source-code is available for viewing. Yep, that is right. If you want to see how a professionally done JSP/Servlet site is built, you now can. Simply follow the link at the bottom of each page to find out more about what you are looking at; the idea is if you like what you see, click to see how it can be done. Additionally, I will soon be kicking off a weekly publication of JSP and Servlet tech tips -- many of which will use JSP Insider as the real life example (look forward to examples of Model 2, Caching and Compression Filters, the JSP 2.0 EL, JSTL, and much more).
Aside from the what-you-should-care-about technical changes, you'll also note the style change of the site. Minimalist is the current theme; there is just enough style to make things look pretty, but there is little to no fluff. This results in quicker downloads as our good, free, content is nothing more than that -- content. This is part of a re-focus on what this site is all about: providing good, free content. Although JSP Insider does still have a nice style framework, don't be surpised if the site gets spiced up from time to time.
The downside to updating the site is that there will be a lot of "broken" links from other sites that don't realize we have updated. Rest assured, there are a few clever tricks I'm using to address this issue, but please tell me personally if you can't find your favorite part of the site. I'll address the issue.
