The Short Course is Outdated

You've made it here because you are trying to read an old JSP tutorial we used to host on this site. This tutorial has been taken offline because it is outdated and because there is a much better resource for learning about JSP. With the JSP 2.0 and Servlet 2.4 specification Jayson Falkner and Kevin Jones, both members of the expert groups, decided to author a comprehensive book for Servlet and JSP developers. You can find out about this book at http://www.jspbook.com, and if you want to learn about Servlets and JSP it is definitely one of the best resources to get a copy of.

Oh, and if you just want a free guide to JSP, check the site out as well. You will find the first three chapters are on-line, and they cover setting up a Java/Servlet/JSP environment, coding Servlets, and coding JavaServer Pages -- not to mention all the source-code is provided and completely free for use.
