Why would I buy it?

Java is a massive language and having a quick reference is very handy when programming. While I heavily use the online Java documentation, many times it is quicker and easier just to pick up a book and find the function name you need. This programming reference fills that need very nicely. It is also simple to navigate and has enough of the basic information I need to keep me programming at a smooth rate. The one disadvantage for me is that this book does not list the JSP or Servlet classes. This isn't a major disadvantage since I use other JSP references. Sometimes I wished the book went into some extra detail for a function over which I might be puzzling, but, at over 1,200 pages of class references, it isn't supposed to be in-depth, but rather a quick reference. One very nice feature of the book is that an extensive supply of simple programming examples are intermixed with the text to help explain the use of many of the listed functions.
